EDWC recently worked closely with Kurt Kappeler, CFO, on structuring the financing for MOTIS Brands, Inc.’s new manufacturing center in Germantown.  The facility will support the accelerated growth of MOTIS and several of its Brands.  The new facility, located in the Germantown Gateway Corporate Park, should be ready for occupancy in Spring 2023, and the additional capacity will allow MOTIS to expand their product assortment, continue expanding the reach of their brands.

MOTIS Brands, Inc. is on an impressive growth trajectory with hopes to accelerate even further in the next few years.  The new “MOTIS Manufacturing Center” will afford more space, as well as a better, more efficient working environment and access to the workforce needed by Motis as it continues to grow.  Over the next 10 years, the net public benefits of this growth project are estimated to be over $2.3 Million based on job creation, wage levels and taxes paid and collected in Washington County.

Community Impact: New and Retained Jobs

EDWC Structures Financing for MOTIS Manufacturing FacilityThe “MOTIS Manufacturing Center” will combine the existing Heavy Duty Ramps jobs and support portions of manufacturing for other product brands in the MOTIS portfolio that are poised to grow with additional capacity.  MOTIS will also use the additional space to expand their product assortment.  In this way, MOTIS can add aluminum welding and materials handling jobs at the Germantown location over the next 3 years. These newly created, direct jobs will provide average annual salaries of over $60,000/yr. In addition to the direct jobs this project will generate, approx. 15 additional spin-off positions will also be created within the community.

The company will also remain headquartered in Germantown and continue to operate Discount Ramps.com, MOTIS Brands’ online retailer located in Washington County for over two decades. MOTIS is retaining all of its current staff, in addition to the new jobs it will create.

The MOTIS Manufacturing Center will occupy 157,000 sq. ft. in a newly constructed building located east of I-41 and north of Holy Hill Road. The industrial building is part of the Zilber Property Group’s developments within the Germantown Gateway Corporate Park.
