EDWC is seeking a high-performing, consultative sales leader to join our team as Economic Development Director. This executive role will work side-by-side with our CEO to deliver innovative economic development strategies and results for Washington County’s businesses, communities, and residents.

What You’ll Do

  • Cultivate and manage C-suite relationships with growth-oriented businesses.
  • Drive a pipeline of business expansion and attraction projects.
  • Proforma project opportunities and structure the resulting deal
  • Build tailored incentive packages, analyzing for ROI
  • Advocate for prospective borrowers through EDWC’s Impact Loan Fund.
  • Deliver consulting and technical services to municipalities in our subscriber program.
  • Use labor force, market, and economic data to inform strategic decision-making.

Ideal Candidate

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, public administration, marketing, economics, real estate, or a related field.
  • 3 – 5 years in economic development, business development, or consultative sales.
  • Comfort with complex deal structuring and public-private financing.
  • Political and interpersonal savvy to lead across diverse stakeholder environments.
  • Familiarity with Washington County and Southeastern Wisconsin a strong plus.
  • A desire to grow into a future CEO role within economic development.

Compensation

Starts at $80,000 per year plus a performance-based earned gainshare program.

Quarterly feedback system required as part of career development plus pay for training needed to succeed with us.
