A Role That Combines Strategy, Relationships, and Impact

In this role, you’ll work with business leaders to help companies expand or relocate within Washington County. From the first conversation to project completion, you’ll guide companies through growth decisions and help align their needs with financing tools, incentives, and strategic resources.

Working directly with EDWC’s CEO, you’ll play a key role in advancing initiatives that support long-term economic growth in the region.

What You’ll Do

Build relationships with CEOs, investors, developers, and business leaders

Identify corporate expansion and relocation

Structure financing and incentive solutions to support investment + job creation

Lead expansion projects from opportunity through implementation

Collaborate with municipal partners and community stakeholders

Guide companies through EDWC’s Impact Loan Fund process

Who Thrives in This Role

This role is well suited for professionals with backgrounds in:

  • Business development or consultative B2B sales

  • Commercial banking or finance

  • Economic development or public-private partnerships

  • Commercial real estate or site development

  • Strategy, analytics, or market analysis

Successful candidates typically enjoy building relationships, solving complex problems, and working with senior leaders to advance meaningful projects.

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred (or equivalent relevant experience) in business, finance, public administration, marketing, economics, real estate, or a related field

  • 5–10 years of progressively responsible experience in business development, economic development, finance, or consultative sales
    (exceptional candidates with less experience but comparable attributes will be considered)

  • Strong consultative selling skills and the ability to operate as a trusted advisor to senior leaders

  • Analytical and deal-oriented mindset, comfortable working with financial structures and public-private collaboration

  • Political and organizational savvy, with the ability to navigate multi-stakeholder environments

  • Bias for action, ownership of outcomes, and consistent follow-through

  • Familiarity with Washington County or Southeastern Wisconsin is a plus

Compensation & Benefits

Base Salary: $95,000 – $110,000 

Gainshare Opportunity: Up to 30% of base pay
