The beautiful, expansive landscape of Washington County has blessed the area with numerous ways for people to enjoy the outdoors.
For the weekend warrior, there is the Eisenbahn State Trail, Ice Age National Scenic Trail and numerous county parks to satisfy any craving for outdoor recreation. In the winter, the Sunburst Recreation Area features a ski hill and tubing lanes.
Washington County is home to numerous golf courses including Erin Hills, which is one of the Midwest’s most heralded courses and will also be the site of the 2017 US Open.
Another beautiful spot for outdoor recreation is the Pike Lake State Park, which is a strip of glacial landforms in the middle of the Kettle Moraine Forest.
